EquiServe is a powerful analytical engine that can provide range of insights to guide public sector leaders and development actors explore a rangeof levers to advance safe access and do more with less & reaching the poor
The ‘EquiServe’ started out with grant supportfrom the Bill Melinda Gates Foundation and was co-conceived under the leadership of Alyse Schrecongost(SPO at BMGF) and public sector leaders fromWASREB, NWASCO and WURD . The tool(originally called SAP-service assessment and planning tool) is designed to illuminateregrssive subsidies and tariffs and unpackmarket system failures that make the progress towards SDG 6.2 painfully slow.structure and visual interface for the tool designed through extensive engagement and several rounds of iteration withregulators and city service authorities.latform is now ownedan operated by Athena Infonomics, a global data solutions group

EquiServe is a powerful analytical engine that can provide a range of insights to guide public sector leaders and development actors to explore a range of levers to advance safe access and do more with less & reach the poor.
‘EquiServe’ was developed with grant support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and was co-conceived under the leadership of Alyse Schrecongost (Senior Program Office at Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation) and in partnership with The Eastern and Southern Africa Water and Sanitation (ESAWAS) Regulators Association, AguaConsult and public sector leaders from WASREB, NWASCO and WURD. The tool originally called CityWide Inclusive Sanitation Assessment and Planning (CWIS SAP) was designed to illuminate regressive subsidies and tariffs and unpack market system failures that make progress towards SDG 6.2 painfully slow.
Collaborative DESIGN
The design, structure, features and functionalities of the tool was designed through extensive engagement and guidance from regulators and city service authorities. We designed user portraits and iterated with our key public sector partners on key dashboard functionalities and features to design a highly intuitive user experience.
